Content Specialist

Zapier is looking for a creative and versatile content marketer to join our growing team as a Content Specialist.

In this role, you’ll be the lead writer for  one of our marketing initiatives and get to work on a broad range of content for our demand generation channels and campaigns, including ebooks, webinars, landing pages, email nurtures, ads, and more.Alongside our world-class team of writers and editors, you’ll create content that transforms people into Automation Heroes at work by helping them discover and succeed with Zapier.

About you:

You're an excellent writer. Your writing is clear, concise, and nearly site-ready—not just in terms of grammar and mechanics, but also in tone and style. You're creative and versatile, able to comfortably shift between crafting short and snappy headers for a product landing page or producing informative eBooks on the value of automation for marketers.

You're a content generalist. You have at least 3+ years of experience writing a wide variety of content for online audiences. You enjoy figuring out what content will resonate with the target audience and then writing to that goal.

You have B2B experience. You’re familiar with B2B marketing strategies and have written copy targeting businesses with 50 employees or more. 

You want to tell stories that get results. You have a knack for shifting your tone and perspective depending on your target audience. You jump in to interview stakeholders—whether it's a customer with an innovative use case, a partner who wants to illustrate the power of their Zapier integration to their users, or a marketing team lead who wants to launch a new campaign—and use that information to write compelling, conversion-focused copy.   

You're a team player. You realize that the work you do contributes to the company's goals and mission of making automation work for everyone. You can work and collaborate with different departments and external stakeholders.

No draft is sacred. You rewrite introductions until they don't resemble their former selves, obsessively check for unnecessary words, and welcome editing feedback.

Learning brings satisfaction. When you approach a new subject, you don't let your lack of knowledge stand in the way—even if it requires dozens of Google searches.

Efficiency is important. At Zapier, the work you do will have a disproportionate impact on the business. You set up systems and processes that let you increase your impact to be larger than yourself as an individual contributor.

You have an experimentation mindset. This position will sit within a new team structure. You’re excited to define a new role, test new processes, and navigate change collaboratively. 


Things you might do:

In this role, you'll get experience with a little bit of everything. That said, here are some things you'll do:

  • Write content in a variety of formats, such as eBooks, webinar decks, customer stories, landing pages, interactive quizzes, sales enablement resources, and more
  • Identify and pitch content ideas to show the value of automation, the Zapier product, and our partner apps to our targeted audiences
  • Serve as the dedicated writer for a marketing pod, partnering with the pod lead to optimize content and messaging based on audience insights and business goals
  • Collaborate with Zapier’s partner apps on comarketing campaigns 
  • Write email nurture campaigns to support various customer journeys 
  • Write blog posts that help inspire people with productivity tips, app guides, and innovative new ways readers can use automation to reach their goals
